ASHURST CE AIDED PRIMARY SCHOOL

SCHOOL PERFORMANCE AT THE END OF KS2 2019

Ashurst CE Aided Primary School aims: ‘to provide all pupils with an education of the highest quality and to promote the development of every child towards the fulfilment of his/her potential, wheresoever that may lie’.

Ashurst is a small school with relatively small cohorts of pupils compared to other schools. The Standard Number (SN) per year group is eight. This characteristic should be borne in mind when considering the school’s results, especially when comparing them to other schools, locally and nationally.

The cohort of Y6 Ashurst pupils in 2018-2019 was nine, with one pupil representing 11% of all marks and results.

The school was very pleased with the performance of its Y6 pupils in 2019. Progress, relative to prior attainment, was good, and very good. across all areas of assessment.

100% of the nine pupils met and/or exceeded the Governments expected floor standards for Y6 pupils 2019.

100% of the nine Y6 Ashurst pupils met’ the ‘expected standard’ in Reading/Comprehension with 44% exceeding the 'expected standard'.

In Grammar Punctuation & Spelling, 100% of Ashurst pupils ‘met’ and 44% ‘exceeded’ the ‘expected standard’.

Nine of the nine Y6 Ashurst pupils, 100%, ‘met’ and 44% ‘exceeded’ the ‘expected standard’ in Mathematics.

ALL nine, 100%, ‘met’ and/or ‘exceeded’ the ‘expected standard’ in Writing’. Four of the nine ‘exceeded’ the ‘expected standard’ in Writing, 44%.

The school is required to publish the ‘Scaled Scores’ in Reading and in Mathematics for the cohort of nine Y6 Ashurst pupils in 2018-2019.

The Scaled Scores for the nine pupils are as follows:

Reading   = 110.2

Maths    = 107.9

The school is also required to publish its ‘Progress Measure’ in Reading and Mathematics, from end of KS1 to end of KS2, for the respective Year 6 cohort 2018-2019.

In the case of the particular Y6 cohort, there were eight of the nine pupils at Ashurst CE Primary School at the end of KS1.

The ‘Progress Measures’ for the eight pupils are as follows:

Reading   =  2.85

Writing =     3.36

Maths     =  - 0.06

Information from the DFE:

The government will not publish KS2 school level data for the 2021 to 2022 academic year. They have archived data from the 2018 to 2019 academic year because they recognise that the data from that year may no longer reflect current performance.
